For Mark and Sheila Hemingway, Potton was the obvious choice. The couple wanted something within their budget that would offer them lots of choice and, most importantly, would fit perfectly on their plot of land.
The couple remarked on how pleased they were with the level of service Pottton provided as well as how exciting it was to watch the property being constructed, particularly the frame.
Outside, the home resembles a quintessentially English home, with light brickwork and elegantly dark roof tiles. As you travel around the property though, you realise that Potton has achieved something quite clever for the Hemingways. Not only is it the typically English village-style home but it also features gorgeous, sleek cladding. The cladding shows off a dark and broody aesthetic with wooden planks and minimal but well-placed window coverage.
This self build truly does offer the best of the old and new. Inside the picture is similar. Stretches of beautiful exposed posts and beams add to the rustic charm of the home, whilst clean walls and uncarpeted floors provide a stylish and modern touch.
The huge, open red brick fireplace compliments the wooden posts and beams traversing the ceiling to create an intimately cosy space. The kitchen presents as a traditional farmhouse with lots more exposed timber framing and huge flagstone tiles.
The couple found the Potton approach to be highly reassuring for their first self-build experience and were impressed by the quality of service they received from beginning to end.
