After a challenging year, we're delighted to announce that Potton have been shortlisted for the Build It Awards 2020. The awards celebrate self build and renovation, including completed projects, services and suppliers and recognise innovation and excellence in the custom and self build home sector.
For the 2020 Awards, Potton has been shortlisted in the following categories:
Best timber frame home
The MacDonalds built their contemporary home in Essex. Its ample glazing and strategic orientation allow it to soak up the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The home is full of interesting angles and vaulted ceilings, a testament to the versatility of designing with timber frame.
Best SIPs home
The Jays' self build in Hertfordshire is a contemporary, SIPs-built home with high-tech features. The home's status as a replacement dwelling meant its footprint size was limited. This problem was overcome by a mezzanine level to add space and architectural interest. The superior thermal performance of structural insulated panels (SIPs) is supplemented by an air-source heat pump and an MVHR system.
